DWTS fans cringe after Julianne Hough abruptly cuts off Ariana Madixs emotional confession in awk

Dancing With the Stars host Julianne Hough has faced backlash once again after an awkward moment with Ariana Madix.

During the show, the former professional dancer interrupted an emotional moment to throw to a commercial.

Ariana, 38, and her partner Pasha Pashkov took to the Dancing With the Stars ballroom for a powerful Viennese Waltz commemorating the Vanderpump Rules star's most memorable year.

She chose 2023, reflecting on finding out that her ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval was cheating on her with Raquel Leviss.

The pair delivered a strong performance that floored the judges and then went to chat with Julianne, 35, on an upper stage afterward.

The professional dancer began: “You should be happier than ever. That was amazing. You know, sometimes our darkest moments lead to that phoenix rising moment so I’m so curious, with doing this show how do you think this show has helped that process?”

Ariana replied, growing emotional as she spoke: “I feel like I’ve found my dream again. I wish my grandma was here to see. We lost her last year and she would have really loved to see this.”

Julianne jumped back in, saying: “I know she would have loved that.

"That was such a powerful dance. Let’s get your scores – I am so sorry to do this – when we come back.”

She appeared to grimace as she spoke, suggesting that even she felt how awkward the moment appeared.

On X, users mocked the bizarre moment, with one writing: "Not Julianne having to cut off her scores after that."

"Damn, poor Julianne having to throw it to commercial break when Ariana brings up her grandma passing away," a second commented.

NAME BLAME

Julianne's hosting abilities have been questioned extensively by critics online.

On October 18, the Utah native, her co-host Alfonso Ribeiro, and the DWTS announcer were slammed for their pronunciation of Xochitl Gomez's name.

Viewers at home noted that the trio appeared to be saying it like Sochi, the Russian city, rather than the correct pronunciation: Sow-cheel.

On X, formerly Twitter, frustrated viewers slammed Julianne in particular over the flub.

One wrote: "The fact that the #DWTS announcer and Julianne can't f**king pronounce Xochitl's name correctly pisses me off to no end."

In another post, they wrote: "Can someone PLEASE teach Julianne Hough and the announcer how to pronounce Xochitl's name?

"It pisses me off to no end when white people don't even put in the effort to correctly say a name that's not 'Sarah' or 'Adam.' Sound it out: SHO-TIL. Damn."

FLO-NO!

During a previous episode, Julianne made an even bigger mistake during an interview with cast member Barry Williams.

On the October 10 episode of DWTS, the Brady Bunch star got choked up as he recalled his former castmate Florence Henderson.

After an emotional Tango with Peta Murgatroyd, he credited the late actress with inspiring him to appear on the competition series.

She asked: "When you're out there dancing, are you feeling something? Are you channeling something?"

He responded: "As a matter of fact, yes. Florence Henderson was on this show and she was a friend but a mentor as well and she is the one who encouraged me to do Dancing With the Stars so I'm feeling Florence here."

"Well I'm sure she is just rooting for you," Julianne replied before cutting to the judges.

Florence died in 2016, years after she appeared on season 11 of DWTS.

Viewers at home noted the quick slip and took to X to have a laugh at Julianne's expense.

One wrote: "Florence is dead girl."

"Not Julianne not knowing Florence Henderson is dead," another joked, adding a grimacing emoji.

A third person wrote on the platform: "Florence Henderson passed away in 2016."
